Living Like a Spaniard: Tortilla Tour
A note to our readers: today's post was mostly written by our daughter, Susanna, as part of an ongoing series she's calling Living Like a Spaniard. I added a few details here and there.
On Saturday the 19 June, 2021 my family and I went to Madrid and did a Tortilla Tour. A Tortilla Tour is when you go to 3 or more famous tortilla restaurants and see which one is your favorite. When we did our Tortilla Tour we went to Juana la Loca, Taberna Pedraza, and Casa Dani. Doing this we saw so much of Madrid. It was so fun. Afterwards we got entertainment and 4 cherries from a fruit stand for €0 euros.
Here are some photos of the restaurants we went to.
The tortilla at Juana la Loca was my favorite because it was juicy and egg yolky and because it was basically covered in caramelized onion juice. Anyone who likes caramelized onions a lot will love the tortilla de patatas at Juana la Loca.
After a walk through the Plaza de Colón, we found our last stop, Casa Dani, which was in the Mercado de Paz. This tortilla was generous and juicy, with tiny pieces of caramelized onion throughout. This was my mom's favorite.
